For the first time in the country, North Korea has reported
the death of a coronavirus. The BBC quoted the country's state-run media KCNA
as saying on Friday. According to the report, fever symptoms have appeared in
thousands of people in the country. Six people have died of fever in North
Korea, KCNA reports. One of them was infected with Omicron. It further said
that one lakh and six thousand people suffering from fever have been 'isolated
and being treated. Experts believe that coronavirus has existed in the country
for a long time. But the country did not recognize it. Later on Thursday, the
first case of the corona was reported in the country. This was followed by a
strict lockdown across the country. The epicenter was reported below the
Pacific Ocean floor, however; no tsunami alert was issued. On Friday, KCNA
reported that the outbreak of corona had spread beyond the capital. According
to the media, a widespread fever spread across the country in late April, the
cause of which could not be ascertained. About three and a half lakh people are
suffering from this fever. However, the number of people affected by Corona has
not been calculated. The KCNA says the North Korean leader visited a health
center and "learned about the spread of Kovid-19 across the country."
This situation has been termed an 'immediate public health crisis. North Korea
has not vaccinated its citizens against the coronavirus. However, the country
rejected the offer of Sinovac and AstraZeneca. The country has so far adopted a
method of controlling the virus by keeping its borders closed. This led to a
sharp deterioration in the country's economy, and supply of essential
commodities and food. Although there have been several cases of corona in the
country since the onset of the epidemic, this has not been officially
confirmed. Neighboring China and South Korea have dealt with the virus. Beijing
is currently struggling to cope with the ammonia type of corona. In July last
year, North Korean state media reported that Kim had reprimanded top officials
for "serious incidents" involving Corona. Later, in September, a
group of soldiers wearing Hazmat suits and masks took part in a military
parade. After seeing this, some experts think that Special Forces have been
formed to stop the spread of corona in the country. Towards the end of 2019,
coronavirus spread from Wuhan, China. Ever since then, North Korea has been
saying that Corona does not exist there.
